taking over a historic building in indio, the desert rat was set to be the hottest spot in the coachella valley for young adults & local bands. the city ultimately dropped the ball on the project, but what a dream it was to create from concept to execution.

the desert rat is a maximalist indie music venue with a full bar & cafe. serving gourmet bagels with rotating cream cheese offerings & retro soda fountain by day, and a fresh micro-brewery beer list by night. THE INTERIOR WAS FILLED WITH DEEP RED & PINK HUES. A PINK CABARET STYLE ROUND STAGE WAS THE FOCAL POINT, RIGHT NEXT TO THE BURGUNDY TILED BAR.

I CREATED THE FULL BRAND WORLD COMPLETE WITH CITY PROPOSALS, FULL INTERIOR DESIGN CONCEPT AND PARTIAL BUILDOUT, CUSTOM FURNITURE, FULL CAFE AND BAR MENU WITH CUSTOM BEER & DRINK HANDLES, SOCIALS, AND A FULLY STACKED LINEUP OF SHOWS.
